How Did People Respond to Chairman Lee Man-hee's Bible Seminar in Chuncheon?

Hello everyone :)

Today, I'd like to share some news about the Bible Seminar recently held by Shincheonji Church in Chuncheon.

On May 13, a Bible Seminar titled "Testimony on the Fulfilled Realities of Revelation" was held at the Chuncheon Church of Shincheonji's Philip Tribe.

Since March, Chairman Lee Man-hee has been conducting Shincheonji Bible Seminars across Korea, beginning in Seoul and continuing through Busan, Incheon, Daegu, Gyeonggi, Jeonnam, Daejeon, Jeonju, and Gangwon. More than 15,000 people, including pastors, have attended these events.

What message did Chairman Lee deliver, and how did participants respond?

"The future of Korean Christianity lies in a faith centered on the Bible. I believe Shincheonji Church will bring about significant change in the years ahead."

- Testimony from Pastor Kim Ju-ho (pseudonym), a former chairman of a Presbyterian heresy committee

Remarkably, among the approximately 1,500 attendees—including pastors, religious leaders, and community figures—Pastor Kim Ju-ho's testimony drew particular attention. As a former chairman of a Presbyterian heresy committee, his confession sparked great interest among the audience.

It was indeed surprising to hear the testimony of a pastor who had once served as the head of a heresy committee, wasn't it?

His testimony was introduced through a special video presentation shown before the seminar.

Pastor Kim confessed that, before attending the Bible Seminar, he had long regarded Shincheonji Church of Jesus as a heretical organization without personally examining its teachings.

“Above all, I tried hard to find errors in the teachings, but no matter how carefully I examined them, I could not find anything wrong.

He stated that Shincheonji Church of Jesus neither denies Jesus nor claims that its Chairman is the returned Christ. Contrary to the rumors and criticism he had heard from others, he found the reality to be completely different.

While Protestant churches are gradually declining, Shincheonji Church of Jesus continues to grow steadily.

Religious leaders should seek to understand the reason behind that growth.”

- Pastor Kim's Testimony

Chairman Lee then reiterated that, as recorded in Revelation 22:18–19, those who add to or take away from the words of Revelation will not enter heaven and will receive curses. He emphasized once again that people, regardless of their religious background, should understand both the prophecies throughout the Book of Revelation and their fulfilled realities.

“He taught that those who are with God are free from death and suffering, and that the only true refuge is where God dwells.”

He encouraged everyone to become one with God, the source of all blessings, and with His Word.

Session 2: Interfaith Dialogue for Unity and Peace

Following the seminar, religious leaders from various faiths, including pastors, gathered for a discussion titled "Interfaith Dialogue for Unity Through Peace" and explored ways to foster harmony and cooperation among religions.

Participants shared their thoughts on the value and role of religion through a common question: "How would you explain your religion in a single sentence to someone who has no religious faith?"

With more people identifying as non-religious and many viewing religion negatively, this seems to be a major challenge for religious leaders and communities today.

It struck me as a very practical and necessary question for the times we live in.

"I believe we should guide believers to understand the Father's will through Revelation and lead them on the path of becoming fruitful believers.

Churches should move beyond a focus on offerings and financial matters and become centered on worship and firmly grounded in God's Word."

- Pastor Choi Seong-hwan (pseudonym), Presbyterian denomination

"If Buddhists and Christians in Korea sign MOUs and work together in religious harmony and mutual prosperity, it could become an opportunity for many people to come closer to the truth."

- Venerable Yeoryang Jeonghye of Buddha’s House (Buddha’s House)

Participants later drafted a "Joint Declaration for Religious Unity and Peace.

The declaration included a commitment to cooperate and stand in solidarity to build a peaceful world based on mutual respect and interfaith harmony.

The event concluded warmly with a commitment among many religious leaders to continue ongoing exchanges of teachings and future cooperation.

Although the world is filled with conflict and division, both God and Buddha would surely desire truth-loving people to gather together and pursue peace.

We hope that all religions can become one in the Word and ultimately bring about a world of peace.

- Lee Jeong-su, Leader of Shincheonji's Philip Tribe

We look forward to the future Bible Seminars of Shincheonji Church and their continued impact.
