Shincheonji Volunteer Group’s Bucheon Chapter Brings Warmth to a Household with a Member with a Disability Through Wallpapering

Our homes are special places where we can unwind after a long day and find comfort and rest.

They are where we recharge both physically and emotionally, and where we carry on with our everyday lives.

That is why even a small change at home can make a bigger difference than we might expect.

Fresh wallpaper and a tidier living space can transform the entire atmosphere of a home. :)

Such improvements can be especially meaningful and welcome to neighbors who need support in improving their living conditions.

With this spirit of care in mind, the Bucheon Chapter of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group continues to support local residents through a variety of community service activities.

Wallpapering Volunteer Work to Improve a Neighbor’s Living Environment

According to a report published on the 12th, the Bucheon Chapter of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group carried out wallpapering work at a home in Ojeong-dong to improve the living conditions of a household that includes a person with a disability.

The initiative was organized to improve the household’s living conditions and help organize and maintain the living space.

What made the effort especially impressive was that volunteers from the Bucheon Chapter who had 15 years of wallpapering experience put their professional skills to work at the home of a member of the Bucheon branch of the Gyeonggi-do Association for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities.

Sharing a skill developed through years of work to help a neighbor, rather than using it solely for professional purposes, made the activity all the more meaningful.

Wallpapering may look like a simple task, but it requires careful attention at every stage, from removing old wallpaper and preparing the walls to measuring, cutting, and finishing the new wallpaper neatly.

Careful workmanship ensures a smooth finish and gives the room a clean, refreshed look.

Carefully Refreshing the Living Room, Kitchen, and Two Bedrooms

On the day of the project, volunteers moved furniture and household items before removing the old wallpaper from the living room, kitchen, and two bedrooms in preparation for a complete wallpaper replacement.

The four volunteers divided the tasks among themselves, cleaning away dust and debris and cutting the new wallpaper to size.

As they applied the wallpaper, the volunteers checked carefully for air bubbles and wrinkles, while another volunteer worked from a ladder to carefully finish the area where the walls meet the ceiling and align the wallpaper edges.

Once the wallpapering was complete, the team returned the furniture and household items to their original places and cleaned the surrounding area, leaving the home neat and refreshed.

More Than a Fresh Space: A Touch of Kindness

Improving a home's living environment is about much more than simply changing how it looks.

Keeping the place where we spend each day clean and comfortable while making necessary improvements can make everyday life more pleasant.

It means not turning away from someone in need, but showing up in person and lending a helping hand.

When small acts of kindness come together, they can help build a warm and caring community where people look out for one another.

We will continue to support the Shincheonji Volunteer Group and its future endeavors!
